Carl is a seasoned performer whose musical career spans decades and genres, rooted in family tradition and lifelong dedication to music. His journey began at just five years old, playing drums with his father's band. By age seven, Carl was already performing guitar in honky-tonks, gaining real-world stage experience at an early age. Soon after, he added the banjo to his growing list of instruments, further developing his versatility and signature sound.

After graduating from high school, Carl entered the rock music scene, performing with the bands Just Mister and Tantrum, where he honed his stage presence and musical range. Several years later, Carl and his brother formed Back in the Saddle, a pivotal chapter that led to sustained success and widespread recognition. He has performed a full season in Branson, played state fairs and major festivals and has been a featured performer at the VP Fair, St. Louis. Known for his professionalism, authenticity, and engaging performances, Carl connects effortlessly with audiences of all ages. With decades of experience and a proven track record on respected stages, he continues to be a sought-after entertainer for festivals, fairs, theaters, and live music venues.

Carl Mager  Lead Guitar & Frontman

Jim Mager  Keyboards, Rhythm Guitar

Jim's musical roots run deep, beginning at just 13 years old when he played in his dad’s country band. With early access to a guitar, it became his first instrument and launched a lifelong journey through music. After years of playing in numerous bands, Jim eventually stepped away — until music called him back in an unexpected way. When his son Jeremiah picked up the bass and wanted to join a band, Jim returned to the stage about 30 years ago, a path that ultimately led him to Highway 67. Influenced heavily by country legends Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings, Jim’s musical taste also spans oldies, jazz, and blues. His versatility and experience add depth and texture to the band’s sound. For Jim, being on stage is about connection. He hopes that through the music, he’s helping people feel a little better — even if just for the length of a song.

Jeremiah Mager  Bass Guitar

For Jeremiah, music has always been a family tradition. Growing up watching his dad and uncle rehearse and play shows in the basement sparked his passion early on and made joining the family legacy feel natural. Jeremiah gravitated toward the bass for its deep groove and rhythmic foundation. With encouragement from his dad and uncle — and knowing bass players who can sing are always in demand — he embraced the role fully. His path into Highway 67 came from continuing to play alongside his family and helping reinvigorate live music with an entertaining, high-energy show. His biggest musical influences are close to home: his dad and uncle. Outside of performing, Jeremiah listens to country, classic and southern rock, and lately, a growing dose of blues. When he’s on stage, Jeremiah’s focus is on the crowd — reading the room, choosing the right songs, and making sure everyone is having a great time.

Mike Jackson  Drums

Mike is the driving rhythm behind Highway 67, holding down the drums while also managing much of the band’s booking, social media, and marketing. His love for music started young, fueled by hours spent listening to KSHE 95 and being drawn to what he thought was the coolest role in any band — the drummer. Drums were the first (and only, according to Mike!) instrument he picked up, and it quickly became clear where his talent lived. Before forming Highway 67, Mike played alongside Carl and occasionally Jim in another project, and when that chapter came to an end, the foundation for Highway 67 was born. Musically, Mike draws heavy inspiration from Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham, admiring his grooves and timeless, ahead-of-his-time style. Offstage, Mike listens to a wide range of music, leaning toward classic rock and, more recently, country. When Mike takes the stage, his mission is simple: entertain the crowd and keep them moving. If his grooves get people dancing — and the music connects with even a few listeners — he considers the night a success.
